Job Description

The Finneytown Alumni Network, a subsidiary of the Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation (the FSEF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking a full time Alumni Engagement Manager to help create an alumni association for the Finneytown Local School District. The ideal candidate would enjoy talking with alumni on the phone or on video conferences, engaging them via social media or email, and preparing direct mail. The topics of conversation may include helping plan for reunions, sharing information about the school community, or assisting with a contribution to a scholarship, educational grant, or campaign.

Responsibilities

The Alumni Engagement Manager will report to the President of the Board of Trustees of the FSEF and be a consistent point of contact for the Finneytown Alumni Network. This position will:

  • Receive and respond to phone calls, email, and direct mail from alumni and community

  • Monitor social media accounts, manage responses, and craft posts

  • Accept and record donations, sending appropriate acknowledgements for tax purposes

  • Record detailed information about each donor interaction in an online tracking app

  • Attend alumni events in order to build relationships and broaden the Finneytown Alumni Network's reach

  • Help develop and implement a PR strategy for the Finneytown Alumni Network

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Associates degree in Business Management, or related area, OR 3-5 years of experience in Nonprofit development or Alumni Relations

  • Familiarity with technology (email, Word, Excel, financial tracking, recordkeeping)

  • Comfortable using social media (Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram)

  • Fundraising experience including message development, calendar implementation, and donor management with segmentation

  • Prefer a candidate with affinity to Finneytown

Location

While work location is flexible, access to reliable transportation is a must.  The successful candidate would need the ability to attend work meetings and events in the Finneytown Local School District during the workday, in the evenings, or on the weekends.  Attendance at meetings outside the district may also be required.  Mileage driven to meetings outside the district will be reimbursed at the standard federal rate.
