Finneytown Update - Fall, 2023
Hello Finneytown Wildcat family, and welcome to the inaugural Finneytown Alumni Network newsletter! I'm Scott Haarlammert, the President of the Finneytown Schools Educational Foundation and Finneytown Alumni Network. I'm excited to be able to share with you a small peek into just a few things that have been happening in Finneytown recently. As you can see below, the community is on fire. If anything below piques your interest, consider learning more, stopping by when you're back in town, or even simply encouraging your classmates to reconnect with Finneytown by submitting their contact information to our alumni website. We would love the opportunity to show you around the old campus before construction begins on a new high school. Go Wildcats!
The Finneytown Marching Band is off to an incredible start in 2023. After performing at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis in November of 2022, the band is on pace to receive another record-breaking collection of accolades this fall. In its first outing of the year, the band competed at the Bands of America Regional Competition in Louisville, KY, taking home first place in Class A with honors for most outstanding Class A musical performance, visual performance, and general effect. At the Mid-States Band Association competition in Lebanon, OH, the band earned first place in Class AAA including best percussion, music, and general effect. Finally, at a windy Mason Invitational Competition, Finneytown placed 3rd out of 17 Class A - Class AAA bands. Follow the band on Facebook as they wrap up a frenzied end to their season culminating with another performance at the Bands of America Grand National Competition in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, November 11.
Springfield Township is undergoing an incredible amount of economic development:
Warder Nursery - For those who remember the old Warder Nursery, Springfield Township has poured a ton of work into creating a destination for the community to enjoy with walking paths and opportunities to observe wildlife, while staying true to the natural beauty of the greater Winton Woods lake area.
TriHealth Finneytown - TriHealth has opened a magnificent new facility at the intersection of Galbraith Rd. and Cross County Highway that offers many medical capabilities in a convenient neighborhood concept. From yearly checkups to emergency X-ray services, it is easier than ever for residents to access healthcare.
HighGrain Brewing - While hearts wept when Brentwood Bowl closed its doors after the final frame, HighGrain Brewing is currently renovating the space and is opening a restaurant and brewery later this fall.
City Barbeque - City Barbeque has transformed the corner of Winton and Cloverview to a mouth-watering destination for BBQ lovers.
